Twenty-five minutes by domestic flight from Mahé, an hour by fast ferry. The airstrip is two kilometres from our door; Anse Lazio and Vallée de Mai are twenty minutes by car.

Vallée de Mai
The UNESCO-listed primeval palm forest at the centre of Praslin — home to the coco de mer, the world's largest seed. Best in the early morning before the heat.

Grand Anse
The beach at our front step. A long flat-water beach on Praslin's south side, calm in the morning.

Curieuse Island
A short boat ride across to a giant-tortoise sanctuary, mangroves, and a beach barbecue lunch. A half-day many guests count as a highlight.

A 15-minute ferry hop. Bicycles, ox carts, and Anse Source d'Argent — the most-photographed beach in the Indian Ocean.
